
🇵🇭 How to Make Turon
Craving Turon? On FoodNeverComes the food never actually comes — so here's how to make real Turon at home, in about 20 min, with stuff you probably already have.
🛒 Ingredients

- 4 saba bananas (or firm plantains), halved lengthways
- 8 spring roll wrappers
- 100g jackfruit strips (langka), optional
- 150g brown sugar
- oil for frying
👩🍳 Method
- Roll each banana half in brown sugar until coated.
- Lay it on a wrapper with a strip of jackfruit alongside, and roll up tightly, sealing with water.
- Sprinkle more brown sugar onto a plate and roll the outside of each parcel in it too.
- Fry in shallow oil, sugar-side down first, at moderate heat.
- The sugar caramelises into a hard amber shell. Watch it — it goes from golden to burnt in about fifteen seconds.
- Drain on a rack, never on paper, or the caramel sticks and tears off.
