- 1 cup milk powder
- 3 tbsp flour + ¼ tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp melted ghee
- 4–6 tbsp milk
- Syrup: 2 cups sugar + 2 cups water + 6 cardamom pods
- ghee or oil for frying
👩🍳 Method
- Make the syrup first: boil sugar, water and cardamom 5 min, then keep it warm on the lowest flame.
- Mix milk powder, flour and soda. Add the ghee, then milk spoon by spoon until a soft dough forms. Stop mixing the second it comes together.
- Roll 16 small balls with greased hands. Smooth them well — smooth now means no cracks later.
- Fry on LOW heat (the balls should rise slowly, not shoot up). Stir gently 7–8 min until deep brown.
- Drop them straight into the warm syrup. Walk away for 30 minutes — they'll drink it up and double in size.
- Serve warm. Soft, syrupy, melts in the mouth — and yes, you made these from milk powder.
The food never comes — but this time, you make it. 🍳
